Concerns and Questions using Technology?

What are some of your concerns and questions you have about using technology and Web 2.0 tools in your classroom?

For example, my concern are the barriers I encounter when introducing tools to my teachers in my district. Sometimes, the tools are not accessible to the teachers in their classroom because of the web filtering system we have in place. I have to test out sites and tools that I want to use with them to make sure they will work before using them in my workshops. The teachers then have to make sure that students can access the websites as well because of the different web filtering rules for faculty versus students.

NETS Standards for Teachers

Welcome to Intro to Educational Technology

This course examines the shifting learning literacy demands of 21st century and how these demands are changing the ways that teachers/trainers educate their students/clients. It investigates digital tools with an eye towards their use in creating authentic, powerful learning opportunities for students/clients. Participants learn how to use selected tools to enhance the learning of their students/clients, and use their own classroom/training sites as a clinical laboratory for experiential learning and application of new skills. Participants are required to report back to the group weekly to share ways in which they have used these tools to improve teaching and learning.
